Eridanus, the River, is a large constellation spanning from -58 to 0 degrees in declination, from the brightest star Achernar (alpha Eri) in the vicinity of the Magellanic Clouds up to the constellation of Orion. The southern parts can not be seen from mid northern latitudes.
