The total lunar eclipse of January 9th, 2001, was in the constellation of Gemini. The bright stars of Castor (upper left) and Pollux (below) represent the heads of the twins. The eclipsed moon with its typical red tinge is overexposed here since the surrounding weaker stars should be shown also.
