The young crescent moon with its glow of earthshine and planet Mercury on the right hand side can be seen just above the horizon. A good visibility of Mercury is a rare occurance since its angular distance to the Sun is always less than 28 degrees. Mercury is the inner most planet in our solar system! By naked eye it can be seen only in twilight and always quite close to the horizon.
